If you are looking for rare or historic — this is it. Only one built in 1955. Two more SLS vehicles were eventually built in 1956 and 1957. Both of these cars disappeared after destroying the competition in the 1957 SCCA racing season. The beginning of this car is unusual – to say the least.

NOTE - This car is pictured above both WITH and WITHOUT bumpers. The pictures of the car with bumpers represents the car as a roadster prototype. The pictures without bumpers represent the car as a testing vehicle for the Mercedes-Benz racing team. The car is currently fitted WITH bumpers.
