I have an 84 300D-Turbo which has had a dash fire. The center of my dash is damaged pretty badly. I'm looking for a salvaged car with a tan leather interior to use for replacement parts. Has anybody ever done something like this? Any tips? Any ideas where I might find a wrecked car for sale. Thanks

I just acquired a '76 450SL, with 63,000 documented original miles. Came out of Florida, which means a lot to us snow-country people. Overall good shape, but needs some TLC to bring it up to par. This is a great site, and I grew up in Paw Paw, Michigan, just outside Kalamazoo.

I love my 1983 300D sedan, and I am trying to find some information about the color of the paint. It is sort of a celery green (over parchment), but I'd like to know what the factory called this color. Anyone know?

I am the son of Werner Engel who drove the 300 SL prototype in 1955 and who won the European Rally Championship on that particular car. It is realy nice to know that the car is still living and perhaps in good shape - at least in better than the driver at that time. My father lost his life in a 300 SL convert. during the GP - Tulpen Rally in 1957 in the Netherlands ( Zandvoort ) after he won the race. If anyone who is able to read this lines is able to send me some pictures to my collection for this car - please be so kind and do so. Since all this was more than 40 years ago - I know it is difficult - but maybe someone has a few pictures which I still havent seen yet. Thank you. Matthias W Engel

I am the proud owner of a 1967 230s. It has low miles and is very clean in and out. I would say that if a score of 10 is perfect then this car is about a 6.5 or 7. My question is how much is it worth? I was told between $3,500.00 and $5,000.00. Does this sound about right?

What a beautiful site you have created -- the photography, layout, and of course, the cars. It's nice seeing the cars speak for themselves, without all the usual hyperbole that surrounds a Mercedes-Benz legend. Thanks for putting together the most beautiful site I've seen on the Internet.

My father has a 1974 280 sitting in his garage. The exterior and interior are in very good condition. The underbody needs considerable work and we are unsure of the engine. Would it be worth it for him to fix it up or do what he is thinking which is donate it a volunteer group for a tax write-off? Any ballpark figures on restoration? Please advise because I think it is too cool a car to donate

Would it be proper to inform your readers of my desire to offer my 1990 300SL 5 speed standard shift...I just yesterday bought an E-320 Cabriolet... I really love them both but, well, I'm kind of drifting toward a more sedate image... getting old? Anyway, please let me know the protocol. Thanks. from

I thought you might be interested to know that I saw Stirling Moss a few weeks back on The Late Show, with David Letterman. They had some pictures of him and some of the cars he raced. I could have sworn that one of them was the 1953/4 300SL GULLWING PROTOTYPE that's on this site.
